Quartararo, MotoGP world champion!

0

The Yamaha rider becomes the first Frenchman to be crowned in the heavy bike category and returns the brand on the tuning forks to the top six years after the last time, on that occasion (2015), with Jorge Lorenzo. El Diablo , who started from 15th place on the grid, his worst starting position since competing in MotoGP (2019), managed to temper his nerves and, little by little, he wriggled through the peloton until he crossed the finish line in fourth.

The victory in the Marco Simoncelli Circuit was awarded to Marc Márquez, the third of the course for the Spaniard and the second in a row, in addition to the first in a circuit that does not turn counterclockwise, this data is especially significant because it confirms the improvement in his right arm.

Pol Espargaró, second, certified his first podium as a Repsol Honda rider. This is the first double for the golden wing constructor since 2019 (Australia) and for the team since 2017 (Aragon).

Enea Bastianini snatched third position in extremis from Quartararo himself (fourth) with two corners to go, even though he started 16th.

Johann Zarco finished fifth, just ahead of Alex Rins (sixth) and Aleix Espargaró (seventh), while Maverick Viñales (eighth) signed his first top ten as an Aprilia rider.

Luca Marini finished ninth, while Valentino Rossi was able to say goodbye to the fans who idolize him from tenth place.
