Silverstone.- The Frenchman, leader of the general points table, will have to face a sanction on Sunday that will lead him to make a rodeo (long lap), as a result of contact with Aleix Espargaró in Assen.
The current world champion finished with a tenth of a margin over Joan Mir, while Maverick Viñales, one of the most solvent this Friday, finished third.
Johann Zarco, the fourth fastest, closed the potpourri of four brands in the first four places, while the oldest of the Espargaró brothers finished fifth.
The sixth best time was awarded to Miguel Oliveira, who was less than a tenth ahead of Alex Rins (seventh).
Enea Bastianini was the eighth and one of the protagonists of the day. Like Jorge Martín (13th), the Beast debuted a new tail on his Ducati, with two prominent wings on each of the sides.
Jack Miller, ninth, and Marco Bezzecchi, tenth, closed a very tight top ten, with only four tenths between the first (Quartararo) and the tenth (Bezzecchi).
Pecco Bagnaia, eleventh, will have to play for his qualification for Q2 this Saturday morning, as will other of the most relevant names, such as Martín, Pol Espargaró (16th) and Takaaki Nakagami (18th).
