Quartararo: "What a nightmare, a terrible race"

The World Championship leader opted for silence after completing his worst race of the season in Thailand, where he started fourth on the grid and finished 17th at the finish, losing no more and no less than 34 seconds along the way.

In an attitude that has nothing to do with his usual professionalism, Fabio Quartararo did not want to attend to his obligations to attend to the media after the race, nor did he meet with those responsible for Yamaha, as explained by the team.

So 24 hours after finishing the race in Buriram, Quartararo uploaded a post to his social networks to communicate with his fans.

“What a nightmare…” explains the Devil.

“Unfortunately we had a terrible race and we couldn’t get any points. After a really good weekend in the dry (conditions), it rained just before our race. We used to be fast this year (in the wet), but somehow we had difficulties, problems and a terrible feeling. I want to thank the Thai fans and see you next year. It’s time to restart, train and prepare for the Phillip Island race!!!”

In the post, Quartararo does not give any more explanations about the reasons that led him to complete his worst race of the year and lose practically all the advantage at the head of the championship, which is now reduced to two points with respect to Pecco Bagnaia.

In his conclusions before the media, Cal Crutchlow gave some clues about the problems that the Frenchman may have suffered, pointing to an overheating of the front tire, which led to the tire pressure shooting up, leaving the M1 without traction.
