A documentary from 1969 gives very private glimpses into the life of the royals. Queen Elizabeth II kept it under lock and key. Now the BBC documentary seeps through in parts.

Windsor – The BBC film piece provides a rare glimpse into the private life of the royal family. The film with the simple title “Royal Family” caused a stir when it was broadcast in June 1969. He was commissioned on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the throne. On the instructions of the palace, he was apparently under lock and key.
Now he has mysteriously appeared on YouTube, reveals 24royal.de.

In 111 minutes, the film shows the monarch visiting Balmoral, on vacation on the royal yacht Britannia or in Sandringham. He allows a look behind the scenes for about a year, the family reveals themselves privately, very approachable while eating, chatting and laughing.

According to “Mail Online”, Queen Elizabeth II found the royals’ image to be “degraded” when the result was presented to her. The documentary disappeared from the scene, only to be suddenly uploaded in parts to YouTube around 50 years later.

The BBC filed a copyright complaint and the upload was removed. Nevertheless, according to “Mail Online” there was a dispute between the broadcaster and Buckingham Palace. Everyone wants to be in control of the plant. It is unclear whether the leak has something to do with the BBC complaint about Prince Williams (39).

The documentary reveals everything that every press office in the age of social media would strongly advise against. You can see Prince Philip (99, † 2021) sitting at a surprisingly untidy desk, and the Queen, too, sorting her correspondence in a less glamorous way. * 24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
