Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is causing a hustle and bustle in the palace: She wants to breathe new life into her Copenhagen residence, Amalienborg Palace.

Copenhagen – Few can call a home as magnificent as Amalienborg Palace. The city residence of Queen Margrethe II (81) is without a doubt one of the most beautiful Rococo buildings in Europe. With its four palaces, it offers the Danish regent and her family living space in abundance, which is also often used for purposes other than intended.

Queen Margrethe II recently demonstrated that she does not shy away from creative projects with her Netflix cooperation, now the next artistic project is already waiting for her. The 81-year-old wants to give her Copenhagen palace a new shine. How the monarch wants to do this, her sister Princess Benedektiven (77) revealed in a press conference at Amalienborg Palace, the place of the event. A unique dance event will take place next year in the four knights’ halls of the mansions.

Under the title “Palæerne Danser” (dt .: dancers of the mansions), four different ballet pieces will be performed in the rooms of the castle in spring 2022. The music for this is composed by Karsten Fundal (55), Tobias Praetorius (25) is responsible for the choreography.
