Razgatlioglu's manager plans talks with all MotoGP teams

Yamaha will not have a satellite team from the 2023 MotoGP season. Franco Morbidelli has a contract for 2023 and Fabio Quartararo will remain in the Japanese factory for two more years, which means that there are no vacancies for the reigning WSBK champion in the premier class.

Toprak Razgatlioglu, who recently completed a positive test on a MotoGP bike in Aragon, will not be able to open the doors of the premier class until 2024.

Led by Cal Crutchlow and as a private test, the Turkish rider got on the controls of a Yamaha YZR-M1. During this test in the Spanish region, Razgatlioglu analyzed his feelings, comparing the Iwata house prototype with his Yamaha R1.

However, Toprak’s manager announced that we will have to wait to see the Turk on a MotoGP. At least, until we have a factory offer on the table.

“Yamaha has extended the contract with [Fabio] Quartararo. So Toprak has no chance [to get into the team], Razgatlioglu ‘s manager told the championship’s official website. “At Yamaha they talked about a B-Team [team satellite], but I made it clear to them that we were never interested in that option. If we go to MotoGP, only to a factory team. Otherwise, we are not interested,” Kenan Sofuoglu replied forcefully.

“Yamaha has lost the customer team and only has the factory team. So we will stay in the Superbike World Championship next year,” confirmed Toprak’s manager, who has an agreement with Yamaha that expires next year. “One thing is clear: in 2024 we can talk to all the manufacturers and all the MotoGP teams.”

“If Toprak enters the MotoGP paddock, it will not be with a B-Team, but exclusively with a factory team. Otherwise, it stays in the World Superbike Championship. I only put my riders in factory teams.” , emphasized his manager before concluding.
