Reformation Day on Monday, October 31, 2022 is a public holiday in many federal states. Are bakeries open on this day?

Cologne – October 31, also known as Reformation Day, is a public holiday in nine federal states. This means that shops such as supermarkets and discounters usually have to close – but there are usually exceptions for bakeries and confectioneries.

Reformation Day is a public holiday in Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia. In many other federal states, All Saints’ Day on November 1st is a public holiday – for example in North Rhine-Westphalia. (nb)
