REVIEW: Vdara Hotel & Spa, Las Vegas

0

Vdara Hotel & Spa is one of the smallest and quietest spas on the Las Vegas Strip, and that’s why I love it. Vdara is part of the $ 8.5 billion CityCenter complex, but the all-suite hotel and spa are serene. First, there is no casino at Vdara Hotel & Spa and only a restaurant called Silk Road and a bar. (If you want more excitement, ARIA Resort & Casino is right across the street.) Vdara is midsize for Las Vegas, with 1,495 suites in a 57-story tower, and you don’t have to walk forever to get somewhere. side.

And Vdara’s rooms are stylish, modern, comfortable, and affordable. Best of all for people who stay longer, they have kitchens and a washer / dryer.

Vdara Spa is green

The 18,000-square-foot spa, Vdara Health & Beauty, is on a human scale with just 11 treatment rooms and lots of natural features. I especially loved all the natural elements at Vdara Spa: the two-story fountain behind the reception, the tranquil women’s lounge (with the TV tuned to a fishbowl), and the mixed meditation room, with a bubbling stone fountain and a chandelier of transparent glass spheres. Vdara is also the first Las Vegas spa at the Red Green Spa.

I chose an Arnica Muscle Repair Massage, an expertly delivered sports massage with one of my favorite massage oils, Naturopathica Arnica Bath & Body Oil (compare prices). I had an amazing massage therapist, Jasmin González, who told me, “I believe that massage is an art form. No two of my massages are the same. She really is an artist, and I would come to see her regularly if she lived in Las Vegas.

Vdara Spa is affordable

Vdara is also affordable for a hotel spa. A special 60-minute massage (with Naturopathica oils) costs $ 140, while a Swedish massage costs $ 130. Facials use Naturopathica, Peter Thomas Roth, or Dr. Obagi’s ZO Skin Health. Red Flower’s special body treatments cost $ 250 for ninety minutes. You can also get massages and body treatments with the Thai aromatherapy line called Akhassa in six outdoor Spa Cabanas next to the Sky Pool & Lounge on the third floor.

I was impressed by the warmth of the staff every step of the way. Afterward, I took time to relax in the ladies’ lounge, which had a redwood sauna, eucalyptus steam room, a soaking tub with a waterfall, and two tepidarium chairs (heated armchairs made from tile). The only thing that Vdara Spa lacks is the brightness factor. But that’s why I like it! Ultimately, spas are a matter of taste and fit well with the therapist. And Vdara matches me perfectly.
