Haiti’s President Moïse was brutally murdered on Wednesday night. Now his widow speaks out for the first time.
Port-au-Prince – The widow of the murdered Haitian President Jovenel Moïse made public statements for the first time after the attack on her husband. “I’m alive, but I’ve lost my husband,” she said in an audio message.
In it, Martine Moïse described, among other things, her impressions from the night of the crime: “Within the blink of an eye, the mercenaries broke into my house and riddled my husband with bullets […] without even giving him the chance to say a word.”
It should not be allowed “that his blood was shed for nothing,” she stressed. She also called for her husband’s commitment to be pursued. Among other things, Jovenel Moïse had campaigned for elections in September: “This is a fight that he waged for us, it must be continued.” (Tu / AFP)
