The number of corona cases in Germany continues to grow. The 7-day incidence has also increased significantly again.

Berlin – The number of corona cases in Germany is still growing. The 7-day incidence in Germany has been rising for eight days in a row and is now 85.6. In the federal states, however, there are big differences: In Thuringia the incidence is currently highest at 172.2, in Schleswig-Holstein the lowest at 44.9. Within one day, 16,077 new corona infections (previous week: 12,382) and a further 67 deaths (previous week: 72 deaths) were recorded.

Corona in Germany – the incidence of hospitalization is increasing

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – is given by the RKI on Wednesday as 2.34 (Tuesday 2.13). A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.

Corona outbreaks have occurred in nursing homes in Germany. In some neighboring countries, the corona situation is worsening. The Czech Republic is struggling with increasing numbers of infections. Easings in the Netherlands are now pushing hospitals to their limits. (ml) * Merkur.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
