Rockstar to remove most of the songs from GTA IV this month

Rockstar’s open worlds have a very long commercial history. So much so that they even beat their own licenses . In other words: the agreements that held several of the songs that make up the OST of ‘Grand Theft Auto IV’ will expire at the end of April, as we read in Kotaku.

Something that will not catch the most veteran fans of the saga new: previous installments such as ‘GTA: Vice City’ or ‘GTA: San Andreas’ were seen in them a few years ago. The reason? According to Kotaku, ‘GTA IV’ was released worldwide on April 28, 2008, with the ten-year license for these songs about to be completed.

Unfortunately, the cited sources do not indicate what will be the issues that we will stop listening to on the Liberty City stations, although it is anticipated that it will be “many”. Not a very precise term, but keep in mind that the game includes 19 radio stations and more than 200 songs. Several of them completely original, by the way.

In fact, as a curiosity it is indicated that on a date not set prior to April 26, players of ‘GTA IV’ on PS3 will receive a message from Rockstar in which they will be recommended to download the songs , although it is not clear if this will allow them to players can continue to enjoy them in the game.
