Rossi invites Lorenzo to the 100 km of the champions at the Ranch

The rivalry between Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo in MotoGP was intense and lasted for many years. However, over time the tension between the two pilots calmed down and both have publicly expressed their mutual respect.

The reconciliation between #46 and #99 goes back a long way and their relationship has reached a new point in recent months. At the EICMA (Milan Motorcycle Show), the Spaniard revealed that he had talked a lot with the Italian and announced that he had been invited to the 100 km of Champions , an event held at the Ranch and organized by him, in which their friends participate.

“When I came back to the Motorland Aragón circuit, I felt a great appreciation for him,” said Lorenzo in an interview with GPOne.com. “He was very happy to see me again, and in the races I went to as a spectator we talked a lot. In the end I received an invitation to go to the 100 km of the Champions at the Ranch . I’m going because it’s an invitation that I liked a lot “.

“I had already thought about shooting on that track, which looks fantastic. In the end, for many reasons, due to the duels on the track and for other reasons, I had never managed to try this track. I am a great lover of dirt tracks , so this appreciation that he has for me when he sees me and this invitation are very nice. I couldn’t say no, in those days I should have gone to Punta Cana , but I canceled the trip to go to the Ranch “.

Despite his five titles, the Spaniard hasn’t been on a bike for a long time and he’s feeling a bit rusty, so he doesn’t expect to be too competitive.

“Since I stopped working with Yamaha , I did one day in Misano with an R1. My current level as a rider, especially on a track that I don’t know like the Ranch , will be very low. So I hope to go much slower than the other riders But the goal is to enjoy two or three days on the dirt track there and be with everyone on that very special day, which will surely be Valentino’s last big race on two wheels.”
