RTL show: "It's not easy to be a Bachelorette"

The two men who were interested in the “Bachelorette” left voluntarily – and the others did not exactly inspire them. Fans of the show therefore speculate before the final: History repeats itself.

Cologne – It was a mini scandal in a pink television world. A moment in which the real world could be seen behind the crumbling facade of kitschy sunsets, candles and red cut flowers.

In 2020 the RTL “Bachelor” Sebastian Preuss could not bring himself to hand over his last rose to one of the two remaining candidates. Too few feelings, too little enthusiasm. And this story could be repeated this year at the “Bachelorette”, fans speculate before the finale this Wednesday on linear television (RTL, September 15, 8:15 pm).

Because Maxime Herbord in the title role did not have it easy this season. The two men she was interested in got out of the car voluntarily – and the remaining ones didn’t seem to make their hearts bounce so far. Not even the public’s favorite Zico, whom the 27-year-old sent home to his horror and that of some viewers shortly before the final.

“It’s a rocky road for Maxime”, moderator Frauke Ludowig will say at “Grosse Wiedersehen”, which will be broadcast after the final, but can already be seen in TVnow’s streaming service.

And the audience suffered with it – at least those who did not complain on Twitter and elsewhere that Maxime was more boring than predecessors such as the more aggressive Gerda Lewis and Jessica Paszka.

They suffered when the men who Maxime liked left, when they tormented themselves through conversations that they apparently did not necessarily want to have, when – for lack of topics to talk about – they kept referring to their “bucket list” with unfulfilled projects . When she sat there with a bit of indifference, when she was kissed by Dominik or Zico or Max or Raphael.

“That makes our season pretty authentic and honest,” she says of the doubts that accompanied her through the show. And actually these doubts, the low blows, the short conversations with the production staff after dates or decisions about the show were good, made the whole thing much more exciting.

After all the ups and downs, there are still two men left who have a chance at Maxime’s last rose: Max (31) from Stuttgart and chick Raphael (23) from Austria. Is it enough for one of them? Or do both, and thus also the bachelorette, go away empty-handed? Whatever the decision, the conclusion of this season remains: “It is not easy to be a Bachelorette.” Dpa
