Russell Wilson shares Seahawk's trade options

Russell Wilson könnte die Seahawks tatsächlich verlassen.

The friction between quarterback Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks increases. After Wilson publicly called his team to duty shortly after the Super Bowl, further spicy and possibly trend-setting details leaked out.

In the meantime, Wilson has informed the Seahwaks about which teams he might be able to trade with. Wilson’s adviser Mark Rodgers revealed this to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Accordingly, Wilson told the team that he wanted to play for the Seahawks – the only teams that would come into question for him, however, would be the Dallas Cowboys, the New Orleans Saints, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chicago Bears.

The 32-year-old has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he would have to agree to a potential trade.

In the course of this constellation, the advance of the Wilson camp can also be understood: Should Seattle see the tablecloth between the two sides shortly before the tearing – which can no longer be ruled out in view of the reports of the past few weeks – the team would now know which other one would use Franchises you can contact.

That time could be closer than Seahawks fans would like. ESPN also reports that several team leaders assume that Wilson will be available via trade this or at the latest the coming offseason. The tensions between the quarterback and the Seahawks leadership are now too strong.

Among other things, there should have been a bang in the course of the past season when Wilson proposed offensive adjustments internally, but his ideas were dismissed. That could be read in a big background story on The Athletic on Thursday.

Wilson, who reportedly wasn’t happy that the Seahawks split from offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, had recently publicly urged the team to invest more in the offensive line, among other things.

Wilson has played every game for the Seahawks since 2012. The greatest success came with the Super Bowl triumph in the 2013 season. Although the Seahawks have made it to the playoffs all but once in these nine years, the last trip to the NFC Championship Game came in 2014.
