Six weeks after the camerawoman Halyna Hutchins died on a film set, Hollwood star Alec Baldwin spoke for the first time in an interview.
Los Angeles / Santa Fe – Hollywood star Alec Baldwin spoke about the fatal shot at a film set in an emotional interview with ABC. Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins (42) was fatally hit by a pistol bullet. Hutchins was loved and admired by everyone, said the actor and producer now in front of a large audience. He still couldn’t believe that had happened.
Baldwin asserts in an interview excerpt that he did not shoot the woman: “I did not pull the trigger.” He would never aim a gun at a person and pull the trigger. He had “no idea” how the live ammunition could have found its way into the weapon. The gun must have been loaded with live ammunition by someone. There was no explanation for the killing shot in the almost two-minute video.
Hollywood star Alec Baldwin: actor bursts into tears
The full hour-long interview with presenter George Stephanopoulos should be broadcast on Thursday evening (local time). The station published just under two minutes from the conversation on Wednesday (December 1st, 2021), in which Baldwin also bursts into tears.
While shooting the western “Rust” on a film ranch in Santa Fe (New Mexico), Hutchins was fatally injured on October 21 and director Joel Souza (48) was hit in the shoulder. Leading actor Baldwin had used the gun for a scene during the rehearsal. The ongoing investigation revealed that there was a real bullet in the Colt. The police are currently investigating how this could happen.

Fatal shot during filming: Alec Baldwin devastated by camerawoman after death
ABC presenter Stephanopoulos (60) said on Wednesday that this was the “most intense” interview in his 20 years with the ABC broadcaster. Alec Baldwin was completely devastated, but he answered all questions very openly. Stephanopoulos said they had talked in detail about the day of shooting and many things surprised him.
A day after the incident, Baldwin had commented on Twitter. “There are no words to express the shock and sadness at the tragic accident that ended the life of Halyna Hutchins – wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” he wrote at the time on the short message service. (ktho / dpa)
