During the shooting of the film “Rust” there were fatal shots in October. Now the police want to search Alec Baldwin’s cell phone.

Santa Fe – Death on the film set: After the sharp shot on the set of the Western “Rust”, the investigation continues. The police now want to examine the mobile phone of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, as the industry journal Deadline reports.

Baldwin had the gun from which the fatal shot fell in his hand while filming on October 12th. At that time, the camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42) was killed by the bullet and the director Joel Souza (48) was injured in the shoulder.

“We are confident that the evidence will show that Mr. Baldwin is neither civil nor criminally responsible for the incident on October 21, and he continues to cooperate with the authorities,” said Baldwin’s attorney. The police are still trying to find clues as to how live ammunition got on the film set. The document on the seizure states: “In the course of (police) interviews, several emails and SMS were sent and received about the Rust film production.”

Baldwin says publicly: The worst thing that has ever happened to him

In an interview with the US broadcaster ABC, Baldwin first commented in more detail on the incident. He believed the gun was loaded with film ammunition, he said in the interview. He burst into tears during the TV broadcast. The interview was broadcast in early December. In this, Baldwin also stated that he had never pulled the trigger. “I would never aim at a person and pull the trigger,” Baldwin told ABC.

He still couldn’t believe it happened. The fatal shot on the film set is by far the worst that has ever happened to the actor and director. It remains to be seen whether the search of Baldwin’s iPhone will lead to new findings. (Lucas Maier)
