Saturn, Venus and Mars will form a triangle in the sky this week

0

If you are passionate about astronomical events, you will not want to miss this one. In the last week of March and the first week of April, stargazers around the world will be able to see three planets close to each other in the sky about an hour before sunrise. Planetary conjunction occurs. Featured: The planets Saturn, Venus, and Mars will form a triangle in the night sky with the Moon appearing next to them in the northern hemisphere. Those in the southern hemisphere will also be able to see Jupiter at planetary conjunction, but it will be seen behind the other three as a prominent bystander.

The best time to see this conjunction will be Wednesday, March 30.

“The Moon is almost back to the point in its orbit where its day side faces the Sun directly, and all we see from our perspective is a thin curve,” NASA explained.

The three planets will appear very close to the Moon : the one on the far right will be Mars; Venus will be at the top of the triangle, and eventually Saturn will be at the far left.

Although the day is likely to be quite cloudy, do not miss the opportunity to try to contemplate this fantastic planetary conjunction. Remember that the last major conjunction took place in February 2021, when Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury were visible as part of a rare triple conjunction that won’t repeat itself for another five years.

To see the Moon-Jupiter conjunction, the tropics and the southern hemisphere will be the best places to observe it.
