"Schachnovelle": Adaptation of the Zweig classic

In recent years, Oliver Masucci has increasingly played himself in the front row. In "Schachnovelle" he shows all his skills.

Berlin – Mario Adorf, Curd Jürgens and other actors were seen in 1960 in an adaptation of the famous "Schachnovelle" by Stefan Zweig.

It took a while, but now there is another cinematic adaptation of the narrow book about a former Gestapo prisoner who had to learn in solitary confinement to maintain at least a little of his mental health through chess.

No Adorf, no Jürgens, but a great Oliver Masucci in the lead role, plus actors like Birgit Minichmayr, Albrecht Schuch and Moritz von Treuenfels. Director Philipp Stölzl has already made films such as “Nordwand” and “Goethe!”.
