Seat Ibiza and Arona: evolution is inside

0

When the SUV aesthetics landed in the B segment, many of us predicted cannibalization within the brands themselves. Let me explain myself with a clear example: the Seat Ibiza and the Arona. Spain had always had a certain predilection for the León’s little brother, with sales that placed him, as a general rule, among the most enrolled. Things have changed since the appearance of the Arona, which is its crossover design twin and few other differences. In order to reactivate the love for Ibiza , the Spanish firm presents a slight restyling that mainly involves a notable technological evolution in the interior. By the way, they take the opportunity to show us a new Arona with a Formentor-style front and the same equipment and connectivity improvements as the Ibiza.

The Seat Arona rose to the sixth position in the ranking of best-selling cars, leading the compact segment ahead of options such as the Peugeot 2008, Kia Stonic, Ford Puma or Fiat 500X. The most notable changes to this facelift are centered on the grille and the lower bumper, which sports round fog lamps and in a more centered position. They remind us of the Formentor, which was the first to wear them as a prototype. However, remarkable evolution is happening inside .

Both the Seat Ibiza, with fewer exterior changes, and the Arona, have a new dashboard. The standard center screen, this time floating, is 8.25 inches, reaching 9.2 inches at the highest trim levels. In the case of the Arona, the trim levels become: Reference, Style, Xperience and FR. As you may have deduced, the Xcellence level to be called Xperience but its specifications are maintained.

The connectivity and interaction with the compact is another of the improvements. From now on the Ibiza and Arona will have a wireless connection for their phones , compatible with the infotainment system thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto . In addition, they introduce the natural voice recognition system by activating ‘Hello Hello ‘. Security is another advance in this update but we continue to tell you more in the gallery.
