Years later ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ continues to crown my top 10 games, and it is that I have lost count of the times that I have started to overcome the game for the simple joy of climbing its colossi and walking through its stages. The arrival of its HD version is going to be a must buy for me, as you can imagine, but in my mind I still maintain that love-hate duality regarding a possible sequel that will never come.
My eagerness to discover and exterminate new colossi is thus relegated to my dream world. A universe that gains strength thanks to the gallery that I have found full of sketches of ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ . In it, in addition to the classic costume tests for characters and the beautiful landscapes worthy of being placed as screensavers, there are also sketches of colossi that were not included in the game .
We could already see some of them in their final version a few years ago, but now they return with that artistic aroma that ink drawings segregate compared to 3D models. Some of the colossi are truly spectacular , more typical of a Studio Ghibli creation than a video game, and it is curious to see how others have evolved from their first concepts to the monsters that were later.
