Kassel – The weather * will be dangerous in the next few days. Graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung warns wetter.net of a low that will affect Germany. It brings a large amount of snow. In the east, south and the middle of the country it can even snow into the lowlands. Flakes are also expected in the Rhine-Main area. But that is not how it remains.
Because wind comes with snow. Gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour are expected. From 65 kilometers per hour one speaks of gusts of wind. In the high altitudes it can even be up to 85 kilometers per hour, reports the meteorologist. In combination with the snow, this can be dangerous. Motorists and commuters in particular should be careful.
Hessen: DWD publishes weather warning – there is danger in these regions
What does this weather forecast mean for Hessen? After there has already been the first snow * in some Hessian regions, it will also be white again on Tuesday (November 30th, 2021). Up to ten centimeters of fresh snow is expected at higher altitudes by Tuesday noon (November 30, 2021). At lower altitudes of up to 300 meters, there can also be up to five centimeters of fresh snow. In its warning report for Hesse, the German Weather Service (DWD) also expects strong and sometimes stormy gusts. While around 55 kilometers per hour are expected in the lowlands, it can even be around 75 kilometers per hour at higher altitudes.
The DWD’s warning card for Hesse is currently brightly colored. These warnings apply to Tuesday:
- Official warning of light snowfall: including in the city and district of Kassel, Werra-Meißner district, Schwalm-Eder district, Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, Gießen district, Main-Taunus district, Limburg-Weilburg district
- Official warning of snowfall: including Darmstadt-Dieburg and Darmstadt, Hochtaunus, Main-Kinzig and Hanau, Fulda, Marburg-Biedenkopf, Wetterau and Waldeck-Frankenberg districts
