Munich – As of Friday, the entire catering industry in Bavaria can use the 2G plus rule for their guests as an alternative to the 3G rule. This additional option was added to the regulations that the cabinet decided on Tuesday, as the State Chancellery announced on Thursday evening.

Corona rules in Bavaria: hosts are allowed to apply 3G or 2G plus rules

According to the 3G rule, those who have been vaccinated, those who have recovered and those who have tested negative for Corona are allowed to visit hotels, restaurants, bars and pubs. But you have to wear a protective mask. However, the hosts can also decide to only admit guests who have been vaccinated or recovered and who also have a negative corona test* or who have received a booster vaccination*. The mask requirement* will then no longer apply.

Minister of State Florian Herrmann (CSU) said: “Voluntary 2G plus creates additional flexibility in the catering trade and at the same time provides an important incentive for vaccination.” The hosts could also stick to the 3G rule – but then with a mask and without loud music and dancing .

Corona rules: Omikron orders for longer working hours lifted early

In addition, the Bavarian Ministry of Labor announced on Wednesday: Bavarian employees in the so-called critical infrastructure no longer have to accept longer working hours due to the corona situation. The corresponding general decrees would be lifted in all administrative districts with effect from Thursday.

The regulation was enacted in January. At the time, it was feared that mass reports of illness due to infections with the highly contagious omicron variant of the coronavirus could paralyze important areas. Affected employers could order up to twelve hours of working time on workdays, the weekly working time should not exceed 60 hours. The regulation should actually only expire on March 19th.

Verdi celebrates Omicron decision on longer working hours – lawsuit successful

The Verdi union welcomed the decision and counted it as a success in its own right. Because: She had successfully taken legal action against the regulation in Upper Franconia. In mid-February, the Bayreuth administrative court granted urgent applications, after which the regulation for the applicants – the trade union and a private individual – was temporarily suspended. Verdi described this as a “model lawsuit” and called on the other government districts to withdraw their identical general decrees.

The Ministry of Labour, on the other hand, announced that the “gratifying development of the pandemic situation and the decline in the number of infections” had eliminated the need for flexible working hours. A revocation of the general decrees was expressly reserved. Verdi district manager Luise Klemens said: “We hope that we have not only averted such a project this time, but also that we will also persuade the state government to keep their hands off such special burdens on employees in the future.” (came /dpa) *Merkur.de/bayern is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
