Spielberg’s autobiographical drama The Fabelmans is reportedly starring director David Lynch as an actor. Numerous Hollywood stars are already on board.

Los Angeles – US director David Lynch is known for films such as “Eraserhead”, “Blue Velvet”, “Mulholland Drive” and the cult TV series “Twin Peaks”, but now the 76-year-old apparently wants to appear in front of the camera.

Lynch joined the cast for the Steven Spielberg film The Fabelmans, according to US industry portals Deadline.com and Variety. However, details of his role were not disclosed. Numerous actors are on board, including Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Paul Dano and Judd Hirsch.

Autobiographical drama

Oscar winner Spielberg (75, “West Side Story”) looks back on his childhood in the autobiographical drama “The Fabelmans”. Dano plays a character based on Spielberg’s father, Williams plays the mother role, and newcomer Gabriel LaBelle plays the young Spielberg. The film is slated to hit theaters by the end of the year. Spielberg spent part of his childhood in the US state of Arizona in the 1950s. With a Super 8mm film camera, a gift from his father, he started making films as a teenager.

In addition to his work as a director, Lynch occasionally appears as an actor, for example in the film “Lucky” (2017) or in small cameo roles in his own productions. dpa
