Spring asthenia in pregnancy: why do I feel so tired and how can I fight it?

0

During pregnancy it is normal to feel very tired thanks to the enormous physical and hormonal changes that we experience. If we also live it during the transition from winter to spring, it can be even more, since the body (and especially during the gestation period) , needs a period of adaptation to the change of daylight hours, to the increase in daylight hours, temperature and the amount of pollen in the environment.

What is spring asthenia?

Spring asthenia is a temporary disorder characterized by a state of constant apathy and fatigue, as well as sleep problems (it is difficult for you to reconcile it, but throughout the day you would fall asleep standing up), and even muscle aches and irritability.

Although the causes are not completely established and in theory as it comes, it disappears , we can take some measures to counteract it.

How can I fight spring asthenia during pregnancy?

The keys so that spring asthenia does not go beyond being an unimportant syndrome are to lead a healthy life and try to keep our spirits up … during pregnancy hormones lead us to be a roller coaster of emotions, so we must pay attention so that these sudden changes do not affect us significantly:

  • Eat well : although it is a manual advice, it is very important to eat in a balanced way and paying special attention to all those foods rich in vitamin B (such as fish, legumes, eggs, meats, green leafy vegetables and nuts).
  • Practice some sport : when we practice sport, our body releases endorphins, known to increase the feeling of well-being in the body. Walking is one of the most important activities during pregnancy, since in addition to helping us lift our spirits, we control the pso and strengthen muscles that will be important at the time of delivery.

  • Rest whenever you need it : during pregnancy it is normal to feel tired , so do not worry if you need to lie down a couple of times a day, always checking that those little naps do not make it difficult for you to fall asleep at night. If it is difficult for you to find an ideal position to rest, I recommend that you use a cushion for pregnant women.

  • Pamper yourself : This was one of the keys that helped me in my two pregnancies, since I usually suffer from asthenia and at that moment I noticed it even more. Taking a good relaxing shower, an oil massage or even going to a wellness center and getting a treatment for pregnant women helped me a lot to have a real restful night’s sleep and lift my spirits almost instantly.

  • Drink a lot of fluids : believe it or not, it is easy to become dehydrated when we are pregnant due to the amount of water we need in the processes that take place within our body. Not drinking enough fluids can directly interfere with how we feel physically and emotionally.
