Los Angeles – US actor Timothée Chalamet (25, “Dune”, “Call Me By Your Name”) is in a fantasy role in front of the camera. The shooting of “Wonka” started in Great Britain, as the Hollywood studio Warner Bros. announced on Wednesday (local time).
The film musical tells the prehistory of the chocolate manufacturer Willy Wonka from the children’s book by the British author Roald Dahl – how the young Wonka becomes the weird manufacturer.
In addition to Chalamet in the title role, there are many stars on board, including Oscar winner Olivia Colman (“The Favorite”), Sally Hawkins (“The Shape of Water”) and comedian Rowan Atkinson (“Mr. Bean”). Warner Bros. has hired director Paul King, the makers of the Paddington films, to do the project. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2023.
