For several months, Michael Andretti confirmed that his goal was to have his own team in the highest category of motorsports, and even said he was 100% in agreement with having to pay the almost 200 million euros that any manufacturer who wants to pay by regulation must pay. start from scratch a project in the current Formula 1.

However, his ambitious plans do not seem to have been received with open arms by the top leaders of the category, who so far have put many more obstacles than facilities to said project, much to Michael’s chagrin.

Andretti already has his own team in IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E and Australian Supercars, among other championships, so his commitment and integrity are beyond question. However, something still does not like the leadership of Formula 1 .

In the last interviews in which Michael Andretti has mentioned his project related to the highest category of motorsport, he has been very critical of the leaders of F1 and, according to some experts, has even gone too far with some qualifications.

Gunther Steiner , director of what is currently the only American Formula 1 team, Haas F1 Team, criticized Michael’s attitude and explained that if he really wants to get a place to establish his own team, this is not the correct road.

“I don’t know what he’s up to with these comments, ask Michael himself. Personally I don’t think they’re too constructive and honestly I don’t think they’ll help him.”

“They will not allow them to advance with their project in any way if they continue like this, but hey, everyone makes their own decisions in life,” added the Italian.

Speaking more specifically about Andretti ‘s preparations to enter Formula 1, which has already submitted an official application to the FIA and has reached an agreement with Renault to mount its engines, Steiner added: “It is not our job to give him or not the license. We have our opinion on it, but we don’t decide anything. We don’t know what they wrote on their application.”

The objective of Michael Andretti, who was already in talks with Sauber to take charge of the Alfa Romeo team recently, is to create his own structure and start his career in 2024, so in order to meet these deadlines, they should receive an official response in the coming months, something that at the moment does not seem very close.
