There is a fresh supply for reality TV fans: A new season of “Sommerhaus der Stars” on RTL. Will it escalate like it did last time?
Berlin – In the summer, RTL put a number of star couples in a farmhouse in Bocholt. Now the whole thing can be seen on TV, from Tuesday (October 5th, 8:15 p.m.) there will be fresh reality TV again.
The first episode of “The Summer House of the Stars – Fight of the Celebrity Couples” can be seen in advance for premium subscribers on the TVnow streaming platform. Mike Cees-Monballijn sets the bar high right from the start and says: “Let the game begin. Go big or go home ”. (Either do it right or don’t do it at all.)
The husband of actress Michelle Monballijn (42) already took part in the “Bachelorette” (he came away empty-handed) and was also one of the seduction candidates at “Temptation Island” (there was no seduction). The summer house viewer knows a lot from the previous season, because this was also due to the corona pandemic in Bocholt in North Rhine-Westphalia. The farmhouse is crammed with knickknacks: crocheted blankets, artificial flower bouquets, stuffed animals, in between crucifixes and an adhesive tape that flies are supposed to get caught on.
The eight celebrity couples will have to crawl through the mud again, eat nasty food and overcome their fear of heights. And then everyday life as a couple. Reality star Samira to her husband Yasin (both met on “Love Island”): “We don’t kiss. So there is nothing there. We are not strong enough. “
The eight celebrity couples gradually choose each other out of the summer house, in between they have to compete against each other in games and cope with everyday life in the house.
Ex-Viva star Mola Adebisi and his girlfriend Adelina Zilai are the first to move into the house. Adebisi describes the smell in the house: “A wet old rag that you forgot in the sink.”
The sixth season is supposed to present more humor than the last one, which was remembered mainly because of its escalations such as bullying and spitting in the face. The reality format had already won the German TV Prize. Reality formats are still a fixture on TV today, although the reputation has also suffered.
