Masks will no longer be compulsory on airplanes from October. According to a YouGov survey, a good third of passengers still want to stick with the protection.

According to a survey, after the mask requirement on airplanes was abolished, a majority of passengers want to continue wearing a mouth and nose cover.

In a survey by the market research institute YouGov, 35 percent of those surveyed said that they thought it likely that they would continue to voluntarily wear a mask on the plane from October 1st. For 27 percent this is “not likely”. In the survey, 31 percent stated that they would not fly at all. 7 percent did not provide any information.

New Corona rules will apply from October. Passengers are no longer required to wear a mask on airplanes. FFP2 masks, on the other hand, are prescribed nationwide in clinics, nursing homes and medical practices. Masks are still compulsory on long-distance trains, although a simple surgical mask is sufficient for children. dpa
