Hamburg – According to information from Bild , digital police radio temporarily failed nationwide on Wednesday night (September 21). Operations centers and the patrols could not communicate with each other. The reasons for this are currently still unclear and are being investigated.

The Ministry of the Interior in Lower Saxony confirmed the failure to the newspaper on request. According to the report, Baden-Württemberg and Berlin were also affected. In the capital, the failure was registered between 2:23 a.m. and 2:39 a.m. In Hamburg, the failure lasted 17 minutes. The emergency services communicated via “mobile devices” as a makeshift solution.
The reason for the failure could be maintenance work. A spokeswoman for the Hamburg police spoke to Bild about “announced work”. (frs)
