Tell me which browser you use and I'll tell you how smart you are

futuro-ibm A controversial study by the Canadian company AptiQuant Psychometric Consulting suggests that Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) users have a lower IQ than Internet users who use other browsers.

To reach this conclusion, they conducted online intelligence tests on 100,000 English speakers from New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States for four weeks using an online test and applying the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS). They then related the results to the browser used to access the web page. The data showed that the people with the highest scores in the intelligence tests had stopped using Internet Explorer and opted for other browsers such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera. However, people with lower scores mostly used Internet Explorer. The AptiQuant researchers suggest that this is because the latter are more resistant to technological changes , which is reflected in the versions of the software they use to navigate the Web, which in many cases are outdated.

Specifically, IE users have an IQ slightly higher than 80 , those of Firefox and Chrome showed an average close to 110, and the most intelligent, according to the study, would be Opera users , with more than 120 points.
