Thank you, countrymen: Remittances increase 17% in the first half of 2022

In the first half of the year, the remittances sent by Mexicans from abroad amounted to 27,565 million dollars (mdd), 17% more than the same period in 2021.

Data from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) released this Monday show that in June, shipments accumulated 5,153 million dollars, that is, 15% more than in June 2021. However, in the monthly comparison, against May of this year, remittances had a slight decrease of 0.38%.

In the first half of the year, the average remittance was 387 dollars, according to Banxico data, an amount above the average for the same period of 2021 of 368 dollars per shipment.

Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato and the State of Mexico are the three entities that have received the most remittances in the first half of 2022.

The amount received by the four entities represents 33.5% of the total received in the country.
