We could say that the concept of technological ecosystem is a fairly new term in the world of consumer technology, although it is true that ecosystems by themselves have existed forever. And although it is true that some doubts may arise, in the case of Apple things could be more or less clear.
An ecosystem is defined as a biological community of organisms that interact with each other. In technological terms, however, it means that a group of devices have mutually compatible software, created with the purpose of creating a collaborative network .
Thus, when we talk about an ecosystem in a sector as innovative as technology (computing, telephony, etc.), the most common thing is to refer to a series of differentiated devices, but which work and connect together, combining to provide a series of advantages to its users.
