The best-selling games in Spain – May 2009

We come once again to the monthly review that we do of video game sales in our country. As you already know, this data is taken from those offered by aDeSe , the Spanish Association of Distributors and Publishers of Entertainment Software.

Last May, one of the great mass phenomena of those who do not understand fashions, time or saturation went on sale. We are talking, of course, of ‘Pokemon’, which is once again on the crest of the wave. This ‘ Pokemon Platinum ‘ is a very peculiar case of a video game, because it is the remake (also called Special Edition) of the previous’ Pokemon Silver Pearl ‘and’ Pokemon Diamond ‘appeared a couple of years ago and which, curiously, are exactly the same video game except for the last animals in the collection (exclusive to each edition).

That is, the same video game brutally sold with three different boxes. With this maneuver by Nintendo, the Kyoto company has seen with its Holy Trinity has not filled the top of the sales charts. But don’t worry, that ‘Wii Fit’, ‘Mario Kart Wii’ and, of course, ‘Wii Play’ are there . Praise Iwata…

In this way, and suddenly, we already know which are the four best-selling games of the past month in this our Spain. What do we find next? Well again more of the same: soccer, soccer and more soccer.

‘ FIFA 09 ‘ and ‘ PES 2009 ‘ take up almost the rest of the list in their editions for PS3, PSP and PS2, leaving room for the excellent ‘ Professor Layton and the Mysterious Villa ‘ from Nintendo DS and finally the only novelty of the list: ‘ Virtua Tennis 2009 ‘ from PS3 that sneaks directly into the fifth position of the table.

Xbox 360 games still do not appear on the list, and neither do computer games. Ramoncín will be delighted to collect the fee from all those Verbatim …

Looking at the individual lists, the discreet ninth place for ‘ inFamous ‘ on PS3, the presence of ‘ UFC 2009: Undisputed ‘ on both PS3 and 360, ‘ Hannah Montana: The Movie ‘ for Nintendo DS or fourth place stand out as novelties. from the Wii list with ‘ Active Personal Trainer + Tapes ‘.

A very daunting list that will be inundated by ‘The Sims 3’ next month.
