The class action lawsuit against CD Projekt RED after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 will be filed in June

Cyberpunk 2077’s story is far from even over. Following the numerous game failures, several CD Projekt RED investors filed a lawsuit against the Polish studio in federal court in Los Angeles.

The escalation of legal actions increased to a total of four, a fact that ended up combining all the lawsuits into one . Now, after the last general meeting with shareholders, we already know when the lawsuit will be filed, as reported by Gamasutra.

Piotr Nielubowicz, CEO of the developer, revealed that it will be sometime next June when that presentation takes place. The person in charge has pointed out that CD Projekt will know the scope of the claim once it is presented and its details can be consulted.

Nielubowicz points out that the law firm responsible for directing the lawsuit and the main plaintiff who will act as the visible head of the rest of the people represented is already known. The trial will take place in the United States, the country in which these legal actions have joined.

The origin of the demand

To be clear about where this whole situation is coming from, we must go back to shortly after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 . At the end of December, a number of investors claimed to feel scammed and cheated , accusing CD Projekt that they had concealed the real status of the title.

Therefore, they filed a class action lawsuit in the city of Los Angeles and the Polish company assured that “we will vigorously defend ourselves against such claims.” This start of judicial hostilities began to lead to returns on platforms such as the PlayStation Store and the subsequent fall in the value of shares on the stock market.

Over the months, three other lawsuits appeared, all of them filed by investors based in the United States . Finally, last week CD Projekt announced through a statement that these four demands would be reinterpreted as one.
