The fake Miami marina will return in F1 2023

One of the main talking points in the first-ever race around the Miami Dolphins’ stadium was its famous mock marina, made up of a collection of 10 yachts positioned on the inside of turns 6, 7 and 8, surrounded by of water stamped on vinyl on a floor that really was solid.

That sparked an explosion of photoshopped images and memes on social media that became one of the weekend’s top talking points. And despite how controversial it was, it delighted the directors of the circuit, since it gave them greater visibility.

Despite all the commotion it caused, it was not clear if this artificial installation would be present again at the 2023 Miami GP.

Now, after several months of talks about it, those responsible for the circuit have confirmed that some of the elements that caught the attention of the fans will return in the next edition of the American event.

Beyond the false marina, the organizers have also been able to confirm that they will bring back the Hard Rock Beach Club and the area dedicated exclusively to Formula 1 fans.

The circuit has also promised that it will improve the experience for fans, with an increase in areas that have shade and water, as well as the installation of more stands focused on the track.

The organizers plan to mount 56,000 seats around the track, which represents an increase of 3,000 compared to this year’s edition.

Event President Tyler Epp said, “Everyone is working hard to deliver a fantastic experience in what will be our second year, especially for the fans, and it’s going to be very exciting to be able to give tickets to the fans who were at waiting list next week.

“In 2023 the iconic MIA Marina (faux marina) and Hard Rock Beach Club will return, which were some of the most popular parts of the event overall.”

“We have listened to our fans who came last year and we plan to increase shaded areas, water supplies and also add more seats in the stands.”

“In our second year, we will continue to showcase and bring out the best of Miami: the culture, the entertainment, the food, the music and the community,” he concluded.
