The future of Judgment is up in the air: disagreements over the protagonist's image rights put the saga in check

If the Yakuza saga is a true success for Sega, its spin-offs are not far behind either. Judgment became a true must-have for lovers of the Japanese underworld, and its sequel Lost Judgment aims to enhance an already lofty work.

However, it seems that its continuity is not assured. As reported from Nikkan Taishu, a conflict has arisen between Sega and the agency of representation of Takuya Kimur a, the person who gives voice and face to the protagonist.

Johnny & Associates is the name of this company that is really jealous with the limits of use of the image of its represented. Specifically, they tend to be very averse to appearances on the internet , which collides head-on with the possibility of bringing Lost Judgment to PC.

For Sega, it is a totally irrefutable market and the agency does not seem to be willing to give a millimeter. As a result, the franchise is on the tightrope for more continuations. Still, Sega continues to negotiate possible solutions to the conflict.

A couple of months ago, with the presentation of Lost Judgment , Sega announced that the game would not be released on PC “for now.” We will see how this story ends, although for now the only sure thing is that the game will be released on September 24 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
