The least polluted cities in the world

0

The non-profit organization Berkeley Earth has carried out a study divided into the 40 least polluted cities on the planet (and the most). The report extracts the data taking into account various factors such as, for example, the quality of the air and the concentration of suspended particles of less than 2.5 microns (PM 2.5) per cubic meter that we can find in it. Those responsible for the investigation examined only those cities with 250,000 inhabitants or more that, on the other hand, also had air quality monitoring data in real time.

In this case, we will focus on the cleanest. What is the least polluted city on the planet? Melbourne, Australia is, on average, the city with the cleanest air on our globe. By contrast, Delhi, in India, is the city with the worst air pollution figures in the world (followed by a fairly wide range of Indian cities, such as New Delhi, Noida or Muzaffarnagar, which account for more than half of the 40 most polluted cities on the planet; specifically, 31 of the 40 most polluted cities in the world are in India).

As a curiosity, in the data updated in real time among the least polluted cities in the world there are several Spanish ones: Seville, in position 23 of 40, Malaga, in position number 32, Valladolid in position 31 or Bilbao, in position number 36 of this list of 40 cities.

Among the least polluted countries on the planet are: Australia, the United States, Russia, Canada, Finland, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Spain or Sweden.
