Bulnes – Asturias
In the heart of the Picos de Europa, it is one of the most remote villages in Spain, to the point that there is not even a road to access it . You have to take a rack railway in Puente Poncebos to overcome the 400-meter drop. You can also take a walk from Poncebos; the route is 5 kilometers. With a population of 29 inhabitants, visiting Bulnes is like taking a trip back in time several centuries ago, with its stone houses and the sound of the water in the background.
Alquézar – Huesca
Located in the Natural Park of the Sierra Cañones de Guara, is Alquézar. In addition to being the starting point for many hiking trails, it has a very rich historical and artistic heritage. The Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor de Alquézar is the main emblem of the town . It is worth going inside to see the carving of the Christ of Lecina. The Sonrisa al Viento and O’Bicón viewpoints are great for having the best panoramic views of Alquézar and its natural surroundings.
Buitrago de Lozoya – Madrid
In the Community of Madrid is Buitrago de Lozoya, one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Spain. A medieval town with great tradition and mountain character , which can boast of having one of the most important walled enclosures in the entire country. The Church of Santa María del Castillo is the most important religious temple in the municipality. It was devastated during the Civil War and was restored in the 80s.
Alcalá del Júcar – Albacete
And finally, Alcalá del Júcar, one of the best preserved and most picturesque towns in Castilla-La Mancha. The most characteristic thing is that all the houses are perched on a hill. At the top of the hill, the Castle of Alcalá del Júcar is the most representative icon of the town , a fortress of Arab origin built between the 12th and 13th centuries.
