0

When we talk about Malaga , we all think of its wonderful beaches, but the Andalusian province also has inland towns that are wonderful, such as Ronda or Frigiliana. If this summer you want to take advantage of your rest days to visit Malaga, these are the towns that you cannot miss.

Frigiliana

The historic center of the town has been a Historic-Artistic Site since 2014 . Our advice is that you first visit the main monuments of Frigiliana and, once you have seen all of them, forget about the map and get lost in the narrow cobbled streets.

The most important visits are: the house of the Apero from the 17th century, the Palace of the Counts of Frigiliana and the Church of San Antonio de Padua. Don’t miss Calle el Garral ! It is a beautiful alley with a multitude of stairs and full of details.

Round

Ronda is one of the most visited municipalities in southern Spain. The New Bridge is the main emblem. Its construction dates from the end of the 18th century to connect the old area with the new Ronda. It is over 100 meters high!

The Church of Santa María la Mayor is the most important religious temple in Ronda, built on an old mosque between the 16th and 18th centuries.

Júzcar

Better known as the ‘Town of the Smurfs’ because all the houses are painted blue, it is one of the towns in the interior of Malaga that are most worthwhile. We recommend doing the route of murals and graffiti inspired by ‘The Smurfs’.

A 100% recommended destination for nature lovers since in the surroundings of the town there are several hiking routes to get to know the flora and fauna of the area. There are two circular 1.3 kilometers of low difficulty that are perfect for families with children.

Genalguacil

And finally, Genalguacil, located in the Serranía de Ronda. It is a museum town that exhibits works of art in the open air . Therefore, in each corner different artistic works are discovered. The Church of San Pedro Mártir de Verona is located in the Constitution Square and is one of the key visits.

It is also interesting to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art “Fernando Centeno López” , which houses many works of great artistic value.

As you can see, there are towns in the interior of Malaga that are perfect to visit during the summer holidays .
