Already available to order, the new Niro, available with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric propulsion systems, is scheduled to reach the Spanish market in the third quarter of this year 2022 . With this efficient model, Kia has created a safe and ideal crossover for the family with a length of 4.42 meters long, 1.82 meters wide and 1.57 meters high. Dimensions that give it a high level of habitability and storage capacity. In addition, high quality recycled materials have been used throughout the vehicle, which increases its qualities in terms of sustainability .

The Niro is based on the third generation of Kia’s ‘K’ platform, uniquely conceived to house different powertrains and noted for its torsional stiffness. Kia engineers have made the most of this structure, tuning the suspension and steering systems to provide a high level of comfort, as well as an agile and confidence-inspiring driving experience. Thus, you can choose between a 141 hp hybrid, a 183 hp plug-in hybrid capable of traveling up to 65 kilometers zero emissions; or a 100% electric 204 hp and an electric range of up to 460 kilometers. The electric Niro is capable of recharging its battery to 80% in just 43 minutes -with a high-power DC charger-. One of the advantages of the new Niro, in its hybrid and plug-in versions, is the maximum braked towing capacity of 1,300 kg.

Sjoerd Knipping , Vice President of Product and Marketing for Kia Europe, said: “The current Niro family is Kia’s third best-selling family in Europe. Since its launch to date, Kia has delivered 350,000 Niro (54% HEV, 15% PHEV and 31% EV), proving that it was the right product at the right time to accelerate the adoption of electrified vehicles.Starting from a blank slate, the new Niro reflects the evolution of our customers’ mobility needs. “We have ensured that this new generation can continue to lead the electrified compact crossover category in an increasingly competitive segment. We expect to sell approximately 90,000 units by 2023.”
