Toucans ( Ramphastidae ) are spectacular birds that stand out for their elongated and colorful beak that helps them catch food. These birds mainly inhabit the tropical rainforests of South America. That is, in areas with lush trees where they can build their nests. The largest toucan species is the coconut toucan, which can measure around 63 centimeters. On the other hand, the smallest is the green toucanet, since it measures just over 30 centimeters.
Regarding their reproduction, these birds lay between two and four eggs a year. In addition, both the female and the male take care of the eggs. Newborn toucans do not have such a long bill, but it increases in size as they grow. After several months, they reach full size.
