It is a year of changes in Formula 1. The new regulations have allowed an aerodynamic twist to the single-seaters that we will see on the track throughout the season, and that have been introduced little by little this last month. The last to appear was the Alpine A522 that Fernando Alonso will drive and that has a lot to do with the leadership of Luca de Meo at the head of the Renault group. During the presentation, the choice of colors for the single-seater has not gone unnoticed, which is committed to pink as the main tone during the first two races of the championship . This decision is due to the participation of BWT, the team’s most important sponsor and, as Luca de Meo says: “We are the team that defends the colors of the French flag and now we will be ‘La Vie en Rose’ with our new sponsor, BWT” . Undoubtedly, the changes in the new regulations are a challenge for the French team, which hopes to have got it right this time with the aim of changing the game.
Alonso’s car
That is what Fernando Alonso commented during the presentation of the Alpine A522 : “I hope it is the car that changes the game. I went back to F1 for these regulations. I’ve been waiting a year and a half for these cars. I have seen the team building this car and we are really motivated,” he commented. His teammate Esteban Ocon also trusts ‘The Plan’ for which Alpine has been working since he knew they had to face the changes that would be implemented in 2022. This season will undoubtedly be a show of different single-seaters, given that they have little to do with each other.
