It is usually thought that the rainiest cities are usually in northern Europe or in cities where the cold and winter lasts for several months . The truth is that none of the rainiest cities in the world is in Europe and they are spread across Asia and America evenly.

Mawsynram – India

It is the wettest place in the world. It has an annual rainfall of about 11,871 millimeters, mostly caused by the Himalayan mountain range.

This place is an aquatic paradise with rivers and waterfalls throughout the city, which make it the queen of the rainiest cities on the planet.

Cherrapunji – La India

Just a few years ago, the city of Cherrapunji was considered the rainiest on the planet. Thanks to the monsoon winds, the rain constantly appears in the city, turning it into a dark and humid place throughout the year.

It is located in the East Khasi Hills district, in the state of Megalaya . It is interesting to know that Cherrapunji has recorded the highest monthly precipitation globally so far: 9,360 mm in July 1861.

San Antonio de Ureca, Equatorial Guinea

It is the wettest place in Africa where about 10,450 millimeters of rain are recorded throughout the year.

It is located 32 kilometers off the coast of Equatorial Guinea, on Bioko Island. The capital of the country is Malabo and it was previously known as Fernando Poo, a character who discovered the island in the 15th century.
