escaner-tanita The Japanese manufacturer Tanita has developed a scanner that is placed under the mattress to measure the movements of the body, breathing and the pulse of users while they sleep, and thus assess the quality of sleep .

The device, called Sleep Scan , weighs 1.3 kilograms and stores the information collected while we sleep on a built-in 2-gigabyte SD card. Later, by means of the software that accompanies the equipment , the information can be analyzed graphically.

About one in five people suffers from some type of sleep disorder , the origin of which is difficult to pin down. Tanita hopes her invention will help make an accurate diagnosis of how each individual sleeps . Sleep Scan will go on sale next May, at the moment only in Japan, and its price will be around $ 400.
