One of my weaknesses in the late nineties was Heroes of Might & Magic III , mixing turn-based tactical strategy with touches of role-playing, two of my favorite genres, especially when looking for any excuse not to study.
The game that gave rise to the pillars of this saga was King’s Bounty in 1990 , of which precisely very soon we will receive its next chapter on August 24 of this year. And luckily it will not be the only game in that wave that awaits us since Coffee Stain Publishing has taken advantage of the PC Gaming Show conference at E3 2021 to show a juicy portion of Songs of Conquest gameplay .
Since its official presentation in 2019 we had lost track of this project, where its creators (Lavapotion) have been working for a whopping more than four years. It is a genre and a legacy that they respect very much, assure those responsible. And the truth is that the essence of the New World Computing icon is palpable. Even its pixelated graphics transport us back to that time .
With a release scheduled for the first quarter of 2022 on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG, Songs of Conquest will allow us to expand our kingdom, explore every corner in search of equipment to improve our allies and fight in hexagonal environments, like the classic before aforementioned. And best of all, it will enjoy a solo campaign apart from multiplayer and even a complete level editor , so its lifespan skyrockets.
