"There is no pain", says Mir after receiving the medical OK to run in Aragón

In this way, the Suzuki rider will return to the track this Friday at the Motorland circuit, after missing the last stop on the calendar, two weeks ago, in Misano, as a result of the injury to his right foot.

On the first lap of the last Austrian Grand Prix , Joan Mir was catapulted into the air and violently hit the ground. The first tests he underwent at the Mobile Clinic already revealed several fissures and a fracture in the calcaneal bone of his right ankle. The tests that were carried out on him later, already in Spain, confirmed that diagnosis and made him a doubt for the next test, in San Marino .

After missing the race at the Marco Simoncelli circuit – he was replaced by Kazuki Watanabe –, and also the two days of testing that took place the week after the event, the 2020 world champion will get back on his GSX-RR in the first free trials in Aragon.

A video posted by Suzuki on the profile of his MotoGP team records one of the tests that Mir had to pass to obtain the green light from Dr. Ángel Charte , the championship’s medical director. In the sequence you can see how the runner from Palma must jump on one leg, letting the whole weight of his body fall on the affected area. “There is no pain,” Mir is heard saying.
