These "old" iPhones will no longer have WhatsApp service from October

WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging applications in the world. Millions of people use it to communicate daily. However, it will soon stop working on some iPhones.

A report from WABetaInfo has said that WhatsApp will stop working on iPhones running iOS 10 and iOS 11 . According to the information, WhatsApp has already started notifying users that the application will stop running on their devices from October 24.

The WhatsApp Help Center also says that only iPhones running iOS 12 and later are compatible with the app.

Currently only two smartphones have iOS 10 and iOS 11 as their latest software update. Both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c are the only two smartphones that are not compatible with iOS 12 or higher, so if you own one of these you will need to change it to continue using WhatsApp.

How to update my iPhone?

However, if you have a newer iPhone and it's still running iOS 10 or iOS 11, then it's time to update your phone in order to use the app.

To update your iPhone, you need to go to Settings > General > Software Update and then download and install the latest version of iOS for your iPhone. iOS 15 is currently available for iPhone 6s and later. The next version, iOS 16, which will be released in the next few days, will only be rolled out to Apple iPhone 8 and newer iPhones.
