Tatankacephalus , which lived in the mid-Cretaceous period, approximately 110 million years ago , could measure up to 6 meters in length. Based on the remains found of its skull, several ribs and a vertebra, experts have recreated what this dinosaur could look like, including several horns that served as protection around the eye and on the cheek . In addition, its discoverers point out in the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences that the body of Tatankacephalus must have been covered with hundreds or even thousands of bone plates . According to Bill Parsons, the dinosaur "was the Cretaceous equivalent of a Sherman tank ."
