Things to do in Beverly Hills

0

Beverly Hills is a small town of only 5.7 square miles and 34,000 people, completely surrounded by the City of Los Angeles, except for a one-mile border to the east that it shares with the city of West Hollywood. Given its small size, there aren’t as many attractions as other areas, but there is certainly enough to do in Beverly Hills to fill a lazy weekend. The best known activities are shopping, eating and enjoying the many luxury hotels in the city if they are within your budget. If not, browsing the designer stores and million-dollar mansions is free. Spa and beauty treatments and plastic surgery are also popular activities for visitors to Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills can also be a good base for exploring the attractions of West Hollywood, Hollywood, and Santa Monica.

Greystone Mansion was built by oil heir Edward L (Ned) Doheny Jr. and his wife Lucy in 1927-29. The 55-room home cost more than $ 1.2 million and included a bowling alley, movie theater, billiard room, and rooms for 15 servants. Doheny was tragically murdered at her home just 5 months after moving into the Mansion. After his widow sold the estate in 1955, it was used as a private event venue and filming location until the city of Beverly Hills acquired it in 1965. The grounds are now a public park, while the Mansion is still in use. as a venue for events and film location.
The park is open to the public every day, except Thanksgiving and Christmas, from 10 to 6 during Pacific Standard Time and from 10 to 5 during winter time. Portions of the park may be restricted during weddings and special events, especially on weekends. Call ahead to verify hours. If you are interested in hosting an event at the Mansion, you can call to make an appointment to see the interior venues.
