This is how MotoGP riders train

0

The start of the season is just around the corner and the MotoGP riders want to arrive as well prepared as possible. During the 5th and 6th of February, the protagonists of the most famous two-wheeled championship in the world made the most of their prototype to collect the necessary information before the start of the course, convened on March 6 at the Losail circuit in Qatar.

However, 2022 started much earlier for the drivers due to the pre-season tests held in Jerez . During this test held on the Andalusian circuit, each structure dismantled their cards for the coming season, collecting information and building, together with engineers, a roadmap to follow in 2022. Weeks after this first contact, the pilots continued working in Malaysia and Indonesia behind the spotlight to arrive prepared at the gates of a season that seems unpredictable.

Most have at their disposal 600cc motorcycles, mini motorcycles and enduro or motocross motorcycles, among others, to liven up the breaks between grand prizes. However, everyone organizes in their own way! These have been the practice combinations that have marked the pre-season for the Spanish MotoGP riders.

Marc Márquez

For the time being, Marc Márquez has been the most versatile rider when it comes to training. The driver from Cervera needs an extra dose of adaptation due to his absence in some rounds of the championship and the vision problems (diplopia) that have temporarily kept him away from two wheels.

However, the #93 does not seem to waste time and has been seen doing off-road, on a CBR600 RR and also with the commercial version of its prototype in the championship, the RC213V-S.

Alex Márquez

His brother, Alex Márquez, joined the training with the RC213V-S in Portimao, where they shared the track, just as they regularly share sand when they train together doing motocross. The rider who completes the LCR box together with Nakagami loves off-road for training, and if it’s with his brother, even better!

Pol Espargaro

On the other side of the box, Pol Espargaró has wanted to share his encounters with the RC213V-S and his CBR1000 RR on social networks on more than one occasion, to get a little closer to the followers who accompany him and provide support every season. Like his teammate, the rider from Granollers has spent a large part of the winter months training off-road.

Aleix Espargaró

His brother Aleix Espargaró, for his part, has expressed his love for cycling training throughout the winter. Aleix is very fond of doing intense routes, which, combined with regular gym sessions, help him maintain optimal physical shape.

Maverick Vinales

Riding a bike is a hobby that his teammate Maverick Viñales also joins, who has also been seen doing flattrack on more than one occasion since the end of the season. The newcomer to Aprilia has shown his love for off-road and has participated in several meetings related to the specialty.

George Martin

On the other hand, riders like Jorge Martín have joined joint sessions with riders from other categories to make the most of these “rest” months. The Pramac rider has ridden in circuits such as Cartagena and Almería, where he has not hesitated to share publications with his V4s, a motorcycle with which he seems to have a very good ‘feeling’.

Joan Mir

Joan Mir has also followed Martín’s path, visiting the Aragón and Algarve circuits and riding for more than 120 laps in order to arrive in his best physical shape for the pre-season tests. To achieve this goal he has been accompanied by his RMZ 450.

Alex Rins

His teammate, Alex Rins, has chosen circuits like Jerez to get behind the controls of the GSX-R1000, with which he has been seen having great moments.
